The 157th Annual Jackson Day Dinner – Saturday, April 21, 2012
The 157th Jackson Day Dinner (April 21 at The Pines), the longest running event of its kind in the country, set the tone for this hugely important election year with a large audience and a number of outstanding speakers.
Headlining the event were two current members of the House of Representatives — Betty Sutton and Tim Ryan. Sutton, as a result of redistricting, is now part of OH-16, meaning she will be running as incumbent against Wayne County’s current incumbent congressional representative Jim Renacci (R). Ryan is currently the representative of Ohio’s 17th district.
Other guest speakers included John Maglio, candidate for House District 1 of the Ohio General Assembly running against Ron Amstutz (R), Armond Budish, Democratic Leader of the Ohio House 129th General Assembly, and David Pepper, a 2010 candidate for State Auditor.
Winners of the Old Hickory Award for a lifetime of service to the community and the party were David and Gayle Noble, while the Ruby Award for dedication and devotion of the democratic process in Wayne County was given to Michelle Baker of Lakeville.
Below are a number of photos from the event. Don Clement, as he has done so well for years, also took a number of excellent photos, which can be found on his Facebook Profile.
