WOOSTER — Changes to the political landscape have not all been favorable to Democrats, so Betsy Sheets has committed to work harder and serve as chairwoman of the Wayne County Democratic Party.

With business and personal commitments taking too much of his time, David Broehl decided he would resign as chairman, which paved the way for Sheets to be nominated and elected to the post.

Gayle Schultz, who served as first vice chairwoman, also tendered her resignation from the post. Jim Bird was tapped to fill the position.

The selections of Sheets and Bird were unanimous.
