Wayne County 2009 Jackson Day Banquet

The Wayne County Democratic Party proudly presented the 154th annual Jackson Day banquet on May 22, 2009

For the second year in a row, the Wayne County Jackson Day Banquet featured a star-studded guest list. Ohio Governor Ted Strickland made a special appearance for the second year in a row, as did Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher, who is running for the Ohio Senate seat that will be vacated in 2010 by retiring Senator George Voinovich.

Giving a tremendous speech was Congressman John Boccieri, who represents Wayne County as part of the 16th District. Boccieri is the first Democrat to represent Wayne County in the House of Representatives since 1948. He is up for re-election in 2010.
